New Space . New LookEvery family pursuing ballet eventually asks themselves the same questions at some points during the course of their dancer’s training: What exactly are we paying for? Is my dancer progressing or just another body in the studio? Is my current studio adequate for my dancer to achieve their professional and/or academic goals related to dance? Is competition necessary for my dancer? Should my dancer go away for Summer Course? What is all of this leading to for my dancer?
The Ballet Clinic is a concierge-level, transparent training program located in Scottsdale, AZ. The Ballet Clinic was designed by David King of A Ballet Education to partner with, educate, and inform both you and your dancer regarding their strengths, weaknesses, progress, and potential career and academic paths related to ballet by: * fulfilling the industry need to triage and curate a dancer’s potential, technique, and trajectory; *offering small class sizes, ensuring all dancers are given individual attention, correction, and guaranteed improvement; *taking dancers with a late start in ballet who possess potential and commitment, and having them “catch up” their technique and artistry; *providing dancers with atypical body types, limited flexibility, and/or other challenges a knowledgeable and supportive training environment to drastically improve their overall facility. Student improvement derives from the individualized corrections and collective culture of hard work that are at the core of The Ballet Clinic’s focus. We take two years of ballet curriculum and compress it into one. This means classes are built in a dynamic way that guarantees results, challenges the dancer, and is a balance of slow methodology and fast paced retention. Shortcomings required for a career in ballet like “lack of turnout” or “feet that don’t point” can be remedied through the careful instruction and curriculum that has been mastered by The Ballet Clinic. We ensure that every student is taught effectively and in a way that permits them to adapt to more than one style. We train our dancers to have the knowledge to self correct, but work together in getting stronger, more artistically refined, and ready to pursue a career in classical ballet or contemporary dance. From individual consultations and private training, The Ballet Clinic has grown from its inception in 2019 to become one of the most respected and prestigious schools in the United States. Our professional success rate is 95%. Those of our former students who did not choose to go the professional ballet route have ended up at top universities for dance. Our alumni have gone on to dance professionally at companies like San Francisco Ballet, Texas Ballet Theatre, Ballet Dortmund, Ballet Arizona, Sarasota Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Ballet Met, Louisville Ballet, and Gulfcoast Ballet. Our alumni are also currently training at some of the most prestigious schools including The School of American Ballet (currently, 3 students), ABT JKO (currently, 3 students), San Francisco Ballet School, and Boston Ballet School. Our university students include Columbia University, NYU, and Indiana University dance programs. Do The Ballet Clinic students compete? Yes, if together with a dancer’s parents, we determine that the dancer is ready and will benefit from the experience. This current season, our dancers have gone on to do well on the Youth America Grand Prix circuit, as well as claimed spots at top Summer Courses. 70% of our students ave finished in the Top 12 at YAGP semi-finals. In the last four years, 8 of our dancers have made YAGP Final Round at Finals. What about summer training? This year our entire school was accepted to ABT JKO NYC Summer Course. 70% of our advanced group of dancers has received either scholarships to a Summer Course, scholarship short—term school visits, or other scholarship offers. All of our dancers over the age of 18 this current season have received trainee offers. Another great aspect of The Ballet Clinic, is that through the Pointe Shoe Clinic, we are a Freed pointe shoe retailer. We keep your pointe shoes in stock, and have flexibility for on-site fittings, and trying new shoes. Dancers can purchase Jet Glue, toe pads, ribbons, and all things pointe shoe related right at our school’s location.
